EV's are popular now, but most electricians still have no idea that the rules and regulations have been overhauled. Don't let the wrong electrician compromise your entire house with a dodgy charger install.

(Or like promising 1.2m new homes in 5 years and ignoring the tradie shortage)
1️⃣ Incoming Mains
We begin at the street to check the type of mains cable coming into your property. This will show how much power is available for the charger and the house.
This normally won't stop you installing a charger, and if you need we can upgrade the mains cable to allow more power.

2️⃣ Switchboard Condition
We check your current condition of the switchboard and how it supplies all the circuits in the house. We work out what needs to be done to safely add the EV Charger, if there are safety issues we see, we quote to fix them, we don't leave any job unsafe.

3️⃣ The EV
Not all EV's charge the same, most can charge at 7.4Kw-11Kw, some can charge at 22Kw. We check the maximum kW your car and any future cars can use. Then, we figure out what needs to be done to reach that kW charging level.

4️⃣ Plan For Charging
We work with you to figure out how you plan to charge the new car. Will you make the most of the 4-8c per KwH overnight charging? Do you plan to charge during the day and utilise solar? Are you only charging once a week?
Your answers decide the charger recommended.

5️⃣ Solar System
If you have solar, we look at how much solar you're exporting and if you plan on using solar for your charging, we need to keep that in mind, as some chargers have a minimum solar only charging rate. Sometimes, the 4-8c per KwH overnight charging rates are better than just using solar. But every situation is unique.

6️⃣ EV Charger
We’ve installed all the major EV charger brands and have one we usually recommend above the rest. That said, the right charger can depend on your home, your solar setup, your vehicle, and how you want to charge. We can install any charger and will recommend which one will best fit your situation.

There's a lot of questions when it comes to EV Chargers, heres a few we get a lot
We can provide an onsite quote with in a few days typically, and we can install an EV charger within a week most of the year, depending on the charger that you want will change this time frame.
We have stock of Evnex chargers that we keep in stock, and Tesla chargers are always easy to get.
Not always. It depends on your power supply and the size of the charger.
If you have three-phase power, you can usually install an 11kW or 22kW charger without needing any additional network control.
If you have single-phase power and want a full 7kW charger, the installation will typically need to include a form of network load management. This allows the electricity network to reduce or temporarily interrupt charging during peak demand periods.
This doesn’t always mean a full smart meter upgrade, but it does involve additional setup to comply with Queensland connection rules.
We check all of this during quoting and handle the process for you.
How much does it cost to install an EV charger?
Most of our EV charger installations range from $2,000 to $5,000, depending on your home’s setup.
The final price comes down to a few key things:
The condition of your switchboard
Available capacity and mains size
Distance from the switchboard to the charger
Whether upgrades are required to safely handle the load
For straightforward installs where everything is already set up correctly, costs are at the lower end.
If your switchboard needs upgrading or your supply isn’t suitable for a charger, costs can increase, but this ensures the installation is safe, compliant, and built to last.
We supply and install both 7kW and 22kW chargers, and size everything properly based on your home and usage.
